The Edison & Ford Winter Estates
Fort Myers is home to the winter estates of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford — a remarkable piece of American history right in the heart of the city. The Edison & Ford Winter Estates is one of the most visited historic sites in Florida, with botanical gardens, a museum, and the original laboratories. The annual Edison Festival of Light in February draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and is one of the premier community events in the Southeast.
